Model Camila had a forehead reduction (Picture: Camilla Coleman Brooks) A woman who was insecure about her forehead and spent years covering it up with her fringe has now had surgery to reduce the size. Camilla Coleman Brooks, 26, spent a decade hiding her 8.5cm forehead (which is two centimeters larger than the average female forehead in America). The North Carolina model then looked into surgery options until she found a forehead reduction operation. The mum-of-two decided to go for it, paying $6,958 (£5,000) for the op which reduced her forehead by three centimeters. The two-and-a-half-hour surgery involved moving her hairline to reduce the forehead size. Surgeons made an incision on the forehead, cutting out the area marked for removal. They then joined the top incision with the forehead incision, effectively taking out 3cm of space. Camila shared her journey on TikTok where her videos get millions of views from people fascinated by the whole thing and those who want to try the op themselves.
Camila had her surgery in February 2021 at Zeeba Clinic, Cleveland, Ohio. She began sharing videos while her head was partially bandaged. In her first few clips, Camila’s face was bruised post-op. Viewers then anticipated what the transformation would look like. Recently, she did a reveal, showing off her newly reduced forehead. She told viewers: ‘My forehead used to be 8.5cm and now it is 5.5cm. It’s an amazing difference. ‘I used to look in the mirror and all I would see was a huge forehead. When I was younger I would always style my hair and notice how big it looked. ‘No one really bullied me for it but it was something I didn’t like. Having surgery was something I wanted to do for myself. It wasn’t that I didn’t like how I looked, I just wanted to be more proportional.’ After receiving a flurry of comments on her most viral video, the model decided to do several follow-up questions including how painful it was, how much it cost and the scarring. At the moment, the mum’s hairline scar is visible but she is sharing progress photos online. – metro.co.ke
